xo Gluten Free Lover xo bio picture

my two loves . . .

Hello! My name is Kathryn - a Georgia girl and bona fide bread lover. Well, that is until I met and fell in love with Justin. Let's be real, I still LOVE bread and all things gluten-ful, but have given up that life for a gluten-free one - because now, I am a gluten-free lover.

I have always loved food. Cooking it, eating it, discussing it. I hope you'll try some of the recipes I've posted and you'll see - gluten-free cooking is accessible and delicious!

Sides & Salads

I hate that it’s been so long since my last post, but a lot has been happening in the last 2 months. Work was absolutely CRAZY during July (I got promoted. Again!). I hosted a family Sunday supper for my dad’s birthday. J and I got engaged!!! We threw a “backyard party” last weekend after […]

Meat & Potatoes

I’ve got two meals to share with you. As you may have guessed, they both include meat and potatoes. Both are fairly simple and include components that either make great leftovers or use up leftovers. The first I’ll talk about is the grilled NY Strip steak we had with easy mashed potatoes and even easier […]

Oven Fried Chicken

This recipe is still “in the works” but I wanted to share it with you anyway. About six months ago, I mentioned that I’m working on a cookbook. While that’s still true, now that I have a full time job, it’s taking me a lot longer than I expected. One of the recipes I plan […]

Barbecue

I have several recipes I want to share including one BBQ staple in particular; potato salad. I have finally come up with a potato salad recipe that I simply adore. Mustard Potato Salad has always been my favorite and I finally came up with the perfect recipe! There is not a picture of the Barbecue […]

Hamburger Mania

Since summer is just around the corner, I’ve been experimenting with hamburger recipes and I think it’s going well! The first recipe I tried was ground beef mixed with diced onions, Worcestershire sauce, egg, bread crumbs, etc. It reminded me of meatloaf. Don’t get me wrong, I like meatloaf, but not when I want a […]

Chicken with Forty Cloves of Garlic

Behold, the most magnificent chicken dish ever. The recipe is Ina Garten’s and I believe it to be the best meal I’ve ever cooked – well, so far. There are quite a few steps but they are all relatively easy and you only use one pot, so the clean up is minimal. I was even […]

Boeuf Bourguignon

My apologies for the several-week long absence. I was recently promoted at work (yay!) and am now full-time, which is a big adjustment after a year of being unemployed. In short – mama’s been tired, y’all. I haven’t been working on my cookbook recipes as much as I’d like (read: at all) and haven’t even […]

Sensational Soups

I made Lentil Soup with Sausage and Potato last week and it was so good, I made it again on Saturday. It is incredibly flavorful and hearty; and when J and I invited my parents over on Saturday, I decided it was the perfect lunch for a dreary February afternoon. (It’s not like we’re having […]

Play with your food

I’ve been playing with some recipes lately and wanted to share my findings. My Dad’s chili recipe, a favorite of mine since childhood, wasn’t supposed to be one of my experiments but I completely forgot to buy the extra ingredients so I just used what I had. It turns out I am skilled at improvising […]

baby, it’s cold outside…

Christmas this year was a mix of newness and tradition. J and I celebrated Christmas Eve just the two of us – well, the dog and the cat were there too – which was the first time for both of us not being with our families. It was nice (being just the two of us, […]
